Description
The proposed book discuss and expose the vastly under-addressed and misunderstood critical business problem of rework and disruption on projects, which jeopardize technology advancement, corporate profits and competitiveness, and national defense readiness.  Despite evidence of the recurring problems that arise from disruptions and project rework, little has been done to throw light on these controversial and critical topics for project managers and executives.  The book will offer an explanation of challenges in the dynamics of project/program management that cause so many projects to fail.  Disruptions are often seen as unforeseeable or seemingly random events that negatively impact our projects.  In fact, the opposite is typically true: many disruptions and many of the causes of project rework arise directly from well-intentioned, but ultimately destructive, project practices.  Finally, the book will offer guidance on how to avoid these persistent mistakes by prresenting experience-based observations from a distinctive view (Rework Cycle) and data-based analyses of projects.  The book is grounded in years of experience and past practice; it will be “data-driven” rather than simply relying on theory.
