This is a significant update of Professor Ryan's textbook from 1988. The chapters on statistical process control and process capability have been expanded considerably to include recent research in the field. The chapter on design of experiments is also longer, with the inclusion of robust design issues. The book is very well written. (Short Book Reviews, V21, N1, April 2001)

"As a comprehensive statistics reference book for quality improvement, it certainly is one of the best books available." (Technometrics, February 2001)

"...the book is carefully written, well produced, and contains a wealth of information for the interested reader." (Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Volume 35, No. 2, 28 December, 2000)
