Description
Wanda A. Wallace's new text, MASTERY OF THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING RESEARCH SYSTEM (FARS) THROUGH CASES, is the first casebook designed to support the use of FARS in the classroom. With this text, students can hone their analytical abilities, learn how to properly identify the scope of relevant guidance, design effective search phrases using Boolean logic, and cope with contradictions and ever-changing guidance in regulation and business practices.

Throughout the casebook, several pedagogical features, including short exercises, intermediate level problems ('brain teasers'), and actual cases, give students the opportunity to solve real-world problem scenarios and help them become familiar with the existing accounting literature and accustomed to using databases as a source of information. In addition, an extended five-part case introduces students to a number of resources beyond FARS, such as Web sites, legal cases, and public filings.
