Ken Raymond received a B.S. in Chemistry from Central Washington University in 1975 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Washington in 1981. Since joining the faculty of Eastern Washington University in 1982, his primary teaching responsibilities have been in the general, organic, and biochemistry series for the health sciences and in the upper-division organic chemistry lecture and laboratory series. In 1990 he received EWU’s annual award for excellence in teaching. He has been chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry since 2000. When not grading papers, he plays mandolin and button accordion in a number of local folk bands.
