This book has been structured around a theoretical framework of topology. However, it is intuitive, moving from the concrete to the abstract. A substantial rigorous treatment of basic topology, balanced between point set topology, geometric topology, algebraic topology, combinatorial topology, and differential topology is provided. Since the majority of applications come from topics other than point set topology, the text has been structured to allow instructors to progress quickly to those topics is desired.
