J. FERNANDO NAVEDA is cofounder and Chair of the Department of Software Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he has been since 1993. He was a visiting scientist at the Software Engineering Institute and has held faculty positions at The University of Scranton and The University of Kansas. Naveda's research interests include software design and software engineering process. An IEEE Computer Society Certified Software Development Professional, he is involved in the IEEE Computer Society's efforts to develop standards and training materials for the certification of software engineering professionals.

STEPHEN B. SEIDMAN is Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas. He has held administrative and faculty positions at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Auburn University, Colorado State University, and George Mason University. Seidman's research interests are in software architectures and formal methods. An IEEE Computer Society Certified Software Development Professional, he plays a leading role in the IEEE Computer Society's effort to increase professionalism in software engineering.
