Patterns of Entrepreneurship, Second Edition offers practical direction and an activist approach to starting and running a business for students and aspiring entrepreneurs. This text takes a more applied approach to the process of starting a new venture and takes the reader through each phase of the process. The text presents entrepreneurship from a practitioner s point of view and explains the underlying strategic issues involved in starting and maintaining a venture, while providing students with the tools and mapped out process necessary to cultivate a new business venture.

Jack Kaplan is both an academic and a practicing entrepreneur. He teaches in the graduate school of business at the Entrepreneurship Center at Columbia University. He is also President and founder of Datamark Technologies, and author of Getting Started in Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Anthony Warren of Penn State University joins Jack Kaplan on the 2nd edition. He has extensive teaching and industry experience. Newsweek recently recognized Penn State, where Dr. Warren teaches, as having the hottest Entrepreneurship Program in the country.
