Technology in Emergency Management provides an introduction and overview of the application of technology in emergency management. It clarifies the role of technology in the support of emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation efforts and the key elements that must be in place for technology to enhance the emergency management process. Examples of current and emerging technology applications are illustrated along with an explanation of critical issues that are a part of the technology application. Special issues and problems associated with the use of technology in emergency management are examined and strategies to overcome these issues and problems are outlined.
