This book will provide practicing leaders and managers with a more complete understanding of what character is; its importance in leading others; how it can be further developed in one’s self and in others through the 5 E's: example, education, experience, evaluation, and environment; the motivation to further develop one’s own character; the role character plays in leadership success and effectiveness; and how it affects key leadership skills such as communication, teambuilding, problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution, among others. This book will include discussion questions at the end of each chapter that leaders and organizations could use in their character education of their junior leaders and other employees. Brief questionnaire self-assessments will also be distributed throughout the book that leaders could use to assess their own character quotient (conceptual) and to administer to their junior leaders and employees to do likewise.
