This volume brings together preeminent scholars from a wide range of disciplines to discuss the state of womens leadership in both the public and private sectors, at home and abroad, and as exercised formally and informally. It addresses how women today are exercising power, authority, and influenceand what still blocks their advance to leadership positions. Chapters are organized around both women in particular fieldssuch as business, law, government, politics, science, and the nonprofit sectorand more general topics such as work/life balance, organizational structures, and gender roles. Contributors include Anita Hill, Debra Meyerson, David Gergen, and other respected academics and authors.
Barbara Kellerman (Cambridge, MA) is Research Director of the Center for Public Leadership and Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Universitys Kennedy School of Government. Deborah L. Rhode (Stanford, CA) is the Ernest W. McFarland Professor of Law and Director of the Stanford Center on Ethics.
