How will my students access my course? The first time a student enters your course, he or she will enter a unique Access Code that comes packaged with the textbook in their Student Access Card.
How do my students get their Access Codes? Access Codes are primarily sold to students through the bookstore as part of a package with their textbook. Your local Wiley Representative can provide you with the correct ISBN to use to ensure that your bookstore orders the correct package. Access Codes can also be purchased online via e-commerce from WebCT's website.
How much does an Access Code cost? Access Code prices vary by title. In general, there is no charge when an Access Code is packaged with a new copy of the textbook. Please contact your Wiley Representative for exact pricing on the title(s) you are interested in.
Will my students need to enter their Access Code each time they enter my course? No, once your students enter a valid Access Code for the first time, they can each create their own username and password to use for the duration of the course.
What will prevent my students from sharing an Access Code? Once an Access Code is entered it is validated as a new, never before used code. It is then immediately expired and is no longer valid for use by any other student.
How long will my students be able to access my course? A student can access your course for as long as it is up and running. If you download and install the course on your campus server this will be determined by your campus policies and rules. If WebCT hosts your course for you, it will be kept up and running on their servers for 120 days after it is last accessed by any student.

What if I am teaching a two-term course (same instructor teaching both terms)?
If the SAME instructor will continue using the SAME e-Pack in a second-term with many or all of the same students from the 1st-term:
- Keep the same course URL and course ID, and retain the student database from the previous semester. (If the course ID changes, or if the student database is reset, previously validated students will lose their validation and be prompted for new codes!)
- You may choose to reset areas of the course, such as Mail or Discussions, but should not reset the students.
- First-term students carrying over to the 2nd term will NOT need a new Access Code provided that these precautions are taken.
- New second-term students should be instructed to purchase a new Access Code.
- Non-active student accounts can be removed via Manage Students feature.
What if a different instructor is teaching the second semester of two-term course?
If a DIFFERENT second-term instructor is teaching using the SAME e-Pack as the first-term instructor with many or all of the same students from the first-term:
- The first-term instructor's ID should be detached from the first-term course, and the new instructor's ID should be attached to it.
- If the first-term instructor wants to teach the same e-Pack again in the future, but with new students, a copy of the original course should be made and reset, and the first- term instructor should teach from the new copy, allowing the second term instructor to "inherit" the original first-term course.
- The second-term instructor can remove any unnecessary content or course information (such as Mail or discussion postings) from the previous semester as appropriate, but should take care not to remove any students who are continuing on from the previous semester.
- If the course ID changes, or if the student database is reset, previously validated students will lose their validation and be prompted for new codes.
- First-term students carrying over to the second-term will NOT need a new Access Code provided that these precautions are taken.
- Students new to the second-term should purchase a new Access Code.
- Second-term instructor can remove any non-active student accounts via Manage Students feature.
Refer an instructor who needs Access Codes for 1st-term students carrying over to the 2nd-term to WebCT Support at publisher.support@webct.com.
