Hoboken, N.J., July 6, 2005
Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE: JWa)(NYSE: JWb), announced today that it had acquired the newsletter publishing division of Manisses Communications Group, Inc., a leading provider of mental health and addiction information located in Providence, RI. The terms of the purchase, which was completed on June 30, 2005, were not disclosed.
The acquisition brings to Wiley a collection of seven highly respected newsletters that provide relevant news and analysis, updates, research, and trends for professionals and practitioners in the fields of addiction, behavioral healthcare and pharmacology, including government, advocacy groups and professional organizations. Covering such topics as psychopharmacology, drug and alcohol abuse, and behavioral disorders, five of the seven newsletters have long-standing editorial affiliations with Brown University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. The Brown Medical School has affiliations with a number of regional hospitals and has been known over its thirty year history for introducing innovations in medical education.
A key title in the program is The Brown University Digest of Addiction Theory & Application, which is now in its 24th year of publication. This monthly publication is devoted to critical research developments in the treatment and prevention of alcoholism and drug abuse.
Additional titles acquired by Wiley from Manisses include Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Weekly, Mental Health Weekly, Brown University Child & Adolescent Psychopharmacology Update, The Brown University Geriatric Psychopharmacology Update, The Brown University Psychopharmacology Update, and Brown University Child and Adolescent Behavior Letter.

"We are confident that under Wiley's capable direction the newsletters will continue to be successful and make significant contributions to the fields of addiction and behavioral healthcare," said Fraser Lang, President of Manisses Communications Group, Inc.
