SPE Chooses Wiley-Blackwell to Publish Plastics Engineering

Hoboken, N.J., April 16, 2008—  Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb), and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), announced today an agreement to partner in the publication of Plastics Engineering, the Society's news magazine delivering the latest news and information for the global market in machinery, materials, plastics processing, and all developments affecting the global plastics industry.

Launched in 1946 and published monthly, each issue of Plastics Engineering focuses on a variety of technical content along with product and market information. Topics covered included materials and additives, primary and auxiliary machinery, processing, and related technology.

"SPE, through its organization and membership, is the leading knowledge base in the field of plastics engineering and technology and a key resource for scientists, engineers, technicians, and managers," said Steven Miron, Vice President and Managing Director, Physical Sciences. "We welcome the opportunity to work together with SPE on such a venerable and prestigious publication and look forward to growing and developing Plastics Engineering."

Plastics Engineering joins Wiley-Blackwell's market-leading program in polymer and materials science.

Since 2004, Wiley-Blackwell has partnered with SPE to publish SPE's three distinguished technical journals: Polymer Engineering & Science, Polymer Composites, and Journal of Vinyl & Additive Technology.

"SPE's partnership with Wiley-Blackwell on our journal publishing has given SPE the global reach and professional publishing expertise needed in today's marketplace. When we wanted to extend the reach of Plastics Engineering through a publishing partnership, the decision to work with Wiley-Blackwell was obvious to us." said Susan Oderwald, SPE's Executive Director. "This partnership on our flagship publication will allow SPE to focus on what it does best, providing excellent technical information on plastics and polymers, and will allow Wiley-Blackwell to focus on what it does best, providing a world-class global publishing platform both online and in print."
